Yes, several projects and designs are nearly ready to enter the market.
As we mentioned, 5 Star Jets attended the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas from October 22 to 24.
There, we observed the Electric VTOL Jet model from the German company Lilium.

Electric Planes: Who is Lilium?
Lilium is a German brand, a pioneer in designing and constructing 100% electric aircraft that promise zero operational emissions according to their manufacturers.
Additionally, the aircraft features 30 powerful motors that enable it to fly swiftly while being quieter than conventional planes.
The future of aviation is drawing nearer.
The Classification of Electric Planes
Aviation has experienced tremendous advancements over time.
Safety in operations and increasingly comfortable, autonomous, and efficient aircraft models have set new standards.
In recent years, electric planes have made a strong emergence; although large-scale models are not yet available, they have been making significant progress.
They can be classified by their size and range as follows:
- Electric planes with batteries: Equipped with high-energy-density batteries, these aircraft are ideal for regional flights and have a limited passenger capacity. They are viewed as models for local businesses and even for air taxis.
- Hybrid planes: These efficiently combine electric motors with conventional internal combustion engines. They alternate engines, using electric motors for takeoff and landing, while internal combustion engines are utilized during flight.
- Planes with developing technology: Numerous projects are underway to design airplane models with reduced emissions. Those utilizing fuel cells, which generate energy from carbon, are among the most advanced currently available.
VTOL JET Electric Plane
This plane boasts a stunning minimalist design and is equipped with 30 battery-powered electric motors.
With a capacity for 4 passengers, it can be modified to accommodate two additional seats, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey for up to 6 people.
A standout feature is its ability to take off and land vertically.
During hover flight, the flaps tilt downward, facilitating vertical takeoff and landing.
Once in cruise mode, the wings align for efficient travel toward the destination.

Considerations Regarding Electric Airplane Technology
Numerous challenges remain for electric airplanes to gain a more significant foothold in private and commercial aviation.
Battery capacity:
The range of electric airplanes is a critical aspect that needs development. It is essential to enhance battery energy capacity and optimize charging times, along with the necessity of equipping all airports with efficient charging stations.
Weight and safety:
Batteries are typically very heavy, impacting the payload capacity of airplanes.
Additionally, the safety of batteries under adverse thermal conditions is another area of concern that requires further investigation.
Cost:
Electric airplanes currently have a higher price point than traditional airplanes. However, as they become more mainstream, their costs are expected to decline.
